College of Computer and Information Sciences Holds a Workshop entitled “Impact of Assessment on Student Learning and Achievement Outcomes”

Seeking to raise the quality of its academic performance and in preparation for CIIS’s national as well as international accreditation the IT department at the College of Computer and Information sciences held as part of its weekly events a workshop entitled:

" Impact of Assessment on Student Learning and Achievement Outcomes"

The event comes in a series of workshops held by the college in the field of scientific and research techniques and modern teaching methods. Prof. Shailendra Mishra, started the workshop by addressing the impact of assessment on measuring learning outcomes and then moved to talk about the direct and indirect evaluation mechanisms.

Prof. Mishra identified in the third stage the learning outcomes of the curricular and the courses and presented analytical examples of the execution indicators of both of them.

By the end of the workshop, Prof. Mishra introduced some assessment techniques linking them to the learning outcomes and the curricular execution indicators and how to create a special assessment matrix for each course. An open dialogue between faculty members and Prof. Mishra took place at the closing of the workshop on the effect of assessment in the measurement of learning outcomes.
