The Initiatives Study Committee held its fourth meeting for the year 1436 AH under the chairmanship of His Excellency the Vice Rector, Dr. Musalam bin Mohammed al-Dossari, on Sunday, 16/06/1436 AH. HE briefed the committee members on the progress in the achievement of the recommendations of the third meeting regarding the establishment of an information or reception center, the proposal to establish a veterinary and livestock department, and the follow-up with King Salman Institute to benefit from the recommendations of the conference knowledge- based economy and its role in national development. The Committee discussed also its scheduled agenda including a proposal to develop an application for smart phones for colleges with the following features: the academic calendar, events and special occasions of colleges, video clips of scientific conferences, seminars and events in colleges, in addition to the news, pictures and a brief introduction on colleges. The Committee also discussed two suggestions one on the establishment of the information management department and the department of educational technology. The committee recommended to refer the two proposals to the competent authorities in the university.
