Third, Administration of Plans and Academic
Programs:
It is an administrative unit connected with vice president for
educational and academic affairs. It is concerned with providing educational
services, curriculums, extra teaching hours and contracts.
1. Unit of Study Plans
The tasks of the unit are described in the following:
1. Following completion of the general framework for plans and
educational system in university faculties.
2. Providing guidance for defining the best standards of
designing educational curriculums.
3. Following development of departments study plans and
improving them periodically to keep up with the scientific development and
labor market needs.
4. Following application of these plans after approving them and
putting up all the criteria and necessary samples.
5. Following academic programs and required plans for academic
accreditation.
6. Coordination among departments and faculties.
7. Following Faculties regarding the programs designing process.
8. Preparing for the sessions of the standing committee for
plans and educational system.
9. Following recent developments in the curriculum development
field with universities and scientific organizations within and outside the
university.
10. Asking for the assistance of study plans and curriculum experts
from inside and outside the university according to recommendations and
suggestions of Vice President for Educational Affairs.
11. Asking for the assistance of experienced editors for proofreading
of plans, and uniting the general design of study plans.
12. Submitting a periodical report about the unit activities.
13. Following workflow in the preparatory year through higher
supervisory committee.
14. Holding workshops.
15. Developing detailed questionnaire.
16. Holding training courses.
17. Publishing related printed materials.
18. Enhancing the educational products of university faculties.
19. Visualizing the faculty needs from the scientific
departments.
20. Improving academic cooperation with universities and
educational organizations with regard to the plans and programs.
2. Academic Studies Unit
It encompasses two sections
A. Extra hours and
schedules
Tasks:
1. Following completion of class schedules in university
faculties.
2. Studying extra hours in class schedules and their
justification.
3. Following external cooperation requirements for teaching in
university faculties.
4. Following criteria satisfaction for contact hours of teaching
staff.
5. Studying how to overcome deficiency in class schedules from
departments similar to faculties.
B. Contracts Section
Tasks:
1. Following university faculties needs of external contracts for
teaching staff.
2. Making advertisements on different international websites and
papers about the university needs for teaching staff in different departments as
well as making advertisements on the university website.
3. Following completion of contracts procedures with qualified
people in Saudi and international universities.
