Department of Computer Engineering and Networks

 

The importance of computer and communication systems and computer networks is increasing with the development of modern technology. So there is the dire need for specialists in this area particularly, after the introduction of computer and information technology in all aspects of life. In this respect, due to the expected need for national qualified work-force in computer field, Computer Engineering and Networks Department in Majmaah University provides a distinct program in response to the scientific and technological changes in the world on the one hand, and to respond to the requirements of the local community in this area on the other hand

For this reason, the program for bachelor degree in computer engineering and networks has been designed so that students can acquire the basic scientific and technological information essential for the computing engineer and the networks specialist. Students gain this knowledge by studying mathematical sciences, physics, electrical engineering and computer sciences. Moreover, students acquire a great deal of concentrated information in computer architecture, logic design, micro processor technology and personal computers, in addition to digital communications, computer networks and control systems.

This scientific specialization is characterized by the practical participation of student in various labs which includes all majors of the department. While designing the program, it has been taken into account that it is able to absorb all new trends brought by the rapid development which is one of the most important features of Computer Engineering. Students are qualified in a balanced way in the areas of computer sciences and software engineering.
