The department was established in the College of Education in Zulfi in the month of Safar 1413.
The college was named as the Intermediate College for Girls in Zulfi, awarding the diploma of the intermediate college to teach the primary stage. It included the following sections:
• The Department of Arabic Language and Social Sciences
• The Department of Quran and Islamic Studies
• The Department of Science and Mathematics
• The Department of Home Economics and Art Education
The College was under the supervision of the General Presidency for Girls' Education at the time.
In 1421, the order of the General Director of Girls' Education was issued to transform the Intermediate College to the College of Education for Girls awarding a bachelor's degree to teach the intermediate and secondary school stages.
The department of Arabic Language was established in 1413 when the college was named as the Intermediate Teachers College, awarding a 2-year diploma. The department was developed with the development of the college to become the Teachers College 1422/1423.
In 1425/1426, the name of the college changed to become the College of Education in Zulfi. The last batch of the Department of Arabic Language and Social Sciences graduated in 1425/1426.
