In accordance with developmental steps applied in Al Majmaah university in all its utilities supervised and followed by HE university rector Dr. Khaled bin Saad Al Muqrin, HE opened the new university electronic gate keeping abreast of the university big development. HE supervisor of information technology deanship, Mr. Shaya bin Abdullah Al Shaya explained in detail the gate and all services and information included. Also, Mr. Youssef bin Hamad Al Rakban, electronic gate supervisor, explained extensive information about the gate. He mentioned that the new gate goal is: to provide website on a worldwide web reflecting university reputation, image, educational and search activities, reaction with its members, society and serving them. He said that the gate should be knowledge base that serving university professors, students and visitors from all society classes. Also, he indicated that a new plan designed for the gate and "Subdomain" is established for each official department of university with complete control panel in two languages for each subdomain and possibility for exploring the gate in two languages. The new electronic gate is connected with social websites such as: YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, RSS). "University Events" feature was provided in the gate homepage for organization and generalization of the dates for university different events. There is a new system for the movable advertisements and banners at the bottom of the gate homepage. Also, a group of advanced text editor added to enable subdomains supervisors of selecting materials for them.
There is also processor for establishing subdomains, personal pages for super administrations, professors, students and advanced searching processor.
He indicated that the new domain features is the united entry to utilize all services of the domain including emails. He indicated also that what has been achieved in the new domain till now is considered to be the first stage of the project and there are a second stage including internal gate for the university, integral system project and operation project. There is also a third stage for the project including some developmental projects of the gate such as the advanced systems, university gate on the smart mobiles and indicators of electronic performance. At the end of the presentation, HE university rector opened the new university gate through iPad. HE thanked and appreciated employees in information technology deanship for efforts they provided and the achievements performed which is praised by all.
