APPLIED MEDICAL SCIENCE COLLEGE IS TO HOLD A WORKSHOP TITLED “THE APPLICATIONS OF NANOTECHNOLOGY IN MEDICAL FIELDS"

 A workshop was conducted under the patronage of His Excellency the Rector Dr. Khalid Al-Mogren and the coordination of Silica Valley Company for Nanotechnology titled “The Applications of Nanotechnology in Medical Fields”.

The first session which was chaired by Dr. Nasser A. Al-Jarallah, Dean of Applied Medical Science College focused on the titled “the various applications of nanotechnology” for the plenary speaker Prof. Oliver Bonado.

The second session was chaired by Dr. Khalid M. Al-Abdelwahhab, Dean of Medical College and the plenary speaker was Dr. Bakheet A. Al-Rasheedi who gave a speech about “the use of nano-carbon tubes in the fields of storing energy”.  

The final session which was chaired by Prof. Mohammad Al-Rukban, the Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs was for the speaker Prof. Mark Sleeven about the “applications of nanotechnology in the treatment of atherosclerosis and stroke”.

The number of participants has reached (294) from inside and outside the university. A rhetorical ceremony was also held and attended by the Vice-Rector for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr. Mohammad Al-Shai’a who also delivered a speech on behalf of the Rector Dr. Khalid Al-Mogren. The ceremony also included a speech for the Dean of Applied Medical Science College Dr. Al-Jarallah and documentary film showing the achievements of the college.

The ceremony was concluded by awarding the plenary speakers and chairmen of the sessions as well as the CEO of the sponsor of the event Silica Company followed by a lunch.
