The Vice-Rector’s Office of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research held a ceremony to award the winners of Majmaah University Award for outstanding scholarship students. The ceremony, held at the University campus auditorium in the presence of the Rector, Vice-Rectors, Deans and Heads of departments.
The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran followed by a film about the Award.
Then Dr. Sami Al-Duwaihi, gave a speech on behalf of the winners, where he expressed his appreciation to the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz and all those who helped to make this Award successful.
He also extended his thanks to winners and encouraged them to serve their University and society in the future.
Later, the University Rector and Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Research awarded the winners of the Award.
After the ceremony, the audience watched a film entitled "The March of Scholarship".
Then the Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies delivered a speech welcoming the participants and congratulating the winners.
The Vice-Rector also thanked the sponsor of the event, the Rector, the Department of Public Relations, the Office of the Dean of Graduate Studies, the Department of scholarship and training, King Salman Institute for Studies and Advisory Services and the Office of the Dean of Community Service for supporting the event.
After that, the Rector inaugurated the website of the Award winners, expressing his delight with the winners and their accomplishments, stating that the University wouldn’t have mounted such a prestigious status without the unlimited support of the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques regarding the nationalization scheme aiming for the realization of the 2030 vision of the Kingdom.
Majmaah University Award for Outstanding Scholarship Students was launched by the Rector at the end of the last semester before opening the door for receiving candidates’ applications.
The Award targets the University MA, PhD and Fellowship scholarship students in addition to those who have completed their degrees abroad.
The award is scheduled to be held on annual basis in the following categories:
1. The Outstanding Researcher Award: to be awarded to the student who publishes scientific research in refereed scientific journals.
2. The Academic Excellence Award: to be awarded to the student who is studying at one of the world's top universities.
3. The Scientific Creativity Award: to be awarded to the inventor who takes out a patent, or the scholarship recipient of a scientific award from accredited official institutions.
