Riyadh Governor, Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, patronized on Thursday 21/7,1440, the student graduation ceremony of the tenth batch and MU Award for Community Service 1439-1440, in the presence of Majmaah Governor, Prince Abdelrahman Bin Abdullah Bin Faisal, MU Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Mugren, princes, vice-rectors, directors government bodies and parents.
A graduation parade took place at the beginning followed by a speech delivered by the Dean of Admission and Registration, Dr. Saud Al-Mughem, who welcomed the audience and extended his thanks to Riyadh Governor for patronizing the event, the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the unlimited support and to MU Rector, Dr. Al-Mugren who were behind this success.
Dr. Al-Mughem said “ 3761 BA students in different fields have graduated this year and who are expected to contribute in substance and value to the development of this nation.”
He congratulated the graduates and encouraged them pursue their dream and not to view graduation as the end of the journey. He also reminded them that the nation is in a dire need of their support for development. Congratulations were also extended by Dr. Al-Mughem to students’ parents whose support, patience and guidance were a great source of motivation for students to excel and succeed.
The student graduation speech was delivered by Fahad Al-Feheid, who expressed their indebt to Prince Faisal for patronizing this ceremony and extended their thanks to the university, including faculty members, who exerted exceptional efforts to help them, a collective effort eventually paid dividends by earning the institutional academic accreditation. Parents were also thanked for their support and graduated students were encouraged to bear responsibility and to serve this nation at best.
A film highlighting the university projects was shown followed by the medical students oath in front of Riyadh Governor. That was followed by a presentation about MU Award of Community Service, which aims to reward outstanding staff, students and community service units, whose contributions to community are substantial. Winners of the prize were awarded by Riyadh Governor.
Addressing the audience, MU Rector, Dr. Al-Mugren extended his thanks to Riyadh Governor for patronizing the event and the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the unlimited support the university receives as an obvious manifestation of their great concern of education.
He added “ the patronage of graduation ceremony by Riyadh Governor, Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, for the fourth time is an indicator of the government interest in the education sector”.
MU Rector stated that several achievements were in evidence over the last period such as earning the institutional academic accreditation, winning King Abdulaziz’s award, representing Saudi Arabia in Comex Show 2019 in Oman and signing an agreement with the Bureau of Experts to provide technology solutions.
At the end of the ceremony, Riyadh Governor, Prince Faisal handed certificates of appreciation to graduates and concluded the event by a speech, commending the university and considered it to be one of the world’s top universities in all aspects. This was attributed to both the support of the government and the unfailing commitment on part of the Rector, Dr. Al-Mugren who led this university to rival other universities.
