The Vice-Rector’s Office for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at Majmaah University held on Wednesday a ceremony of MU Award for Scientific Excellence and the associated exhibition at the auditorium of main campus in the presence of MU Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Mugren, Eng. Abdulaziz Al-Hugail – sponsor of the award-, vice-rectors, deans, directors and students.
Prior the ceremony, the associated exhibition of the award was inaugurated by Mu Rector and Eng. Al-Hugail, where winning projects of faculty members, researchers and students to be shown.
Launched by a recitation of the holy Quran, Prof. Mohammed Al-Shaya’a, Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, delivered a welcoming speech of all audience and stated that the award seeks to create an environment conducive to excellent scientific research, innovation and creativity. The launch of the award is expected to serve the university strategic objectives, namely building competitive strategies to meet the needs of both labor market and knowledge society, improving academician’s abilities and skills, inculcating the university essential values such as innovation and creativity, achieving the university initiatives to have a supportive environment for faculty teaching and increasing research production.
He also highlighted the advanced level the university has reached in terms of infrastructure, making a reference to the late institutional academic accreditation that the university earned as well as the academic accreditation of some programs.
Prof. Al-Shaya’a commended the sponsorship of this award by Eng. Abdulaziz Al-Hugail, which will contribute to the renaissance of this nation.
A film was also shown entitled “ house of experience” which highlights MU contributions to scientific research and patents, particularly the conducive environment to research and knowledge.
Sponsor of the award, Eng. Al-Hugail then addressed the audience on this occasion, expressing his gratitude for holding the ceremony to of third version of award.
“This award reflects to what extent scientific research is important in all fields, particularly in this era of unprecedented development the Kingdom is witnessing.” Added Eng. Al-Hugail.
In view of the Kingdom’s vision 2030 developed by Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and lead by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosque King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, scientific research has gained important position and becomes a necessity to keep up with the incessant massive changes.
Realizing the significance of innovation, MU has launched this award to encourage students to develop their skills in different knowledge fields.
MU Rector, Dr. Al-Mugren gave a word revealing the secret behind the success of MU which are the unlimited support of the government and the team spirit MU has enabling it to make the right decision.
Congratulating winners including faculty members and students, MU Rector, Dr. Al-Mugren and Eng. Al-Hugail awarded winners of the various categories of the prize.
