The Saudi Scientific Association for Cyber-security held its first meeting in the presence of the Association members. The Meeting was inaugurated by the chairperson of the founding committee of the association, Dr. Mohammed Al-Wanain who welcomed all members and commanded the decision made by the University Council to set up this association, highlighting its primary role in filling the gap in the field of cyber-security in Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Al-Wanain also referred to the National Cyber-security Authority as a government security entity which focuses primarily on bringing new legislation and monitoring their implementation in the country and the Saudi Federation for Cyber Security and Programming which aims to develop professional skills in this field.
The secretary of the association, Mr. Mohammed Al-Meheimeed, delivered a presentation about the establishment of the association, its vision, mission and goals as well as the resume of Candidates for the Board of Directors.
After listening to candidates, the process of electing the Board of Directors took place. The following members were elected :

Dr. Ali Al-Hamdan, Advisor at the Saudi Cyber-security Authority
Eng. Sultan Abo-Khasheem, Advisor of the Chairperson of the Saudi Standards and Metrology Organization
Eng. Mohammed Al-Qadbar, Deputy General Manager of Information Technology and Supervisor of the Cyber Security Department at the Bureau of Experts.
Mr. Mohammed Al-Meheimeed, Supervisor of the Vice-Rector’s Office for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research
Dr. Ibrahim Al-Zamel presented the official website of the Association and its Twitter account.
Association members extended their thanks to MU Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Muqren and the Vice-Rector, Prof. Mohammed Al-Shaya’a, for their support and approval to set up the Association which reflects the concern of the university to keep up with the scientific development in different fields to achieve the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
