The Department of Accounting at the College of Business Administration has hosted the initiative “Tawasul Wa Ithra” introduced by the Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA) for accounting students in Saudi universities.
A pavilion was set up both in male and female campuses, and an open meeting was held with the Assistant Secretary of SOCPA, Mohammed Al-Ghayhab.
The meeting was inaugurated by a recitation of the Holy Koran followed by a word given by the Dean of Business Administration College, Dr. Waleed Al-Bisher who welcomed the members of SOCPA and commended their support to the department of accounting.
In an introductory lecture presented by Mr. Al-Ghayhab, he talked about the aim of establishing the organization and the wide-range of services provided to beneficiaries as well its achievements and primary role in developing the accountancy profession in Saudi Arabia.
Al-Ghayhab also pointed out all information related to the fellowship examination such as materials, schedule and fees of examination, terms of applicants and strategies of the examination. He also highlighted the importance of this fellowship for receiving attractive job offers from public and private sectors.
Jaber Al-Jaber, Head of Accounting Department, extended his thanks to the Organization for its continuous cooperation with the department to serve the educational process. He also thanked students for attending and encouraged them to keep on showing up in such lectures to increase their knowledge and hone their professional skills.
Memorial shields were exchanged between the dean and assistant secretary in recognition each other contributions.
