AWARD CEREMONY OF QURAN AND SUNNAH CONTEST WINNERS PATRONIZED BY MU RECTOR

MU Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Muqren, patronized the award ceremony held for winners of Quran and Sunnah contest. In the presence of vice-rectors, deans and managers as well as faculty and students, the ceremony, which was conducted in the auditorium of main campus, began by a recitation of the holy Quran followed by a speech delivered the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Khalid Al-Ofaisan.
Addressing the audience, Dr. Al-Ofaisan pointed out that the Quran contest was launched one year later after the establishment of the university; the Sunnah contest was included later. The contest was the center of attention, particularly by the vice-rector for educational affairs and the dean of student affairs since it started.
2943 male and female students have participated in the Quran contest; 1341 male and female students, in Sunnah contest.
Since its launched, the contest has been sponsored by MU Rector, which indicates the extent to which Quran and Sunnah have been cared by the leaders of this country. To follow suit of other Saudi universities, Majmaah University has given a special care to this contest which encourages students to memorize Quran and Sunnah and to be righteous people in their society.
At the end of his word, Dr. Al-Ofaisan extended special thanks to the following: MU Rector for patronizing the contest, the Holy Quran Memorization Association in Majmaah for judging the Quran contest, the Islamic Studies Department at the College of Education in Zulfi for judging the Sunnah contest.
Some of the winners in this contest recited the holy Quran and they are: Saeed bin Sulaiman, Abdelrahman Al-Ammar and Mohammed Al-Hammad.
Addressing the audience, MU Rector delivered a speech during which he highlighted the importance of this contest due to the great value of Quran and Sunnah in this country.
Commending the efforts exerted to run this contest, Dr. Al-Muqren thanked the Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Al-Rumaih and the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Khalid Al-Ofaisan for organizing this contest in a professional manner.
MU Rector added that the university, based on the support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, will keep on continuously patronizing this contest.
The contest winners in all categories were awarded by MU Rector and the Vice-Rector, Dr. Jawaher Al-Omar at the end of the ceremony.
