MU launched an original initiative targeting drivers and students alike to increase their safety awareness in and outside buses. “Be cautious” initiative aims primarily to increase students and drivers’ awareness when they come to a stop and unloading students. Common practices that may endanger students inside buses were also highlighted.
Specialized trainers participated in the initiative along with the traffic departments in Zulfi and Hawtat Sudair.
General Manager of Services Administration, Mr. Moteb Al-Maymoni said that holding this initiative was at the request and support of MU Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Muqren who stressed that this imitative should fulfill its objectives. The follow-up of the Vice-Rector, Prof. Musallam Al-Dosari, played a significant role in the success of this initiative.
Al-Maymoni added that drivers and students were seen very active during the intensive workshops and field trainings of this initiative.
According to Al-Maymoni, holding this initiative indicates the university’s inclination to promote traffic safety and to achieve one of the goals set by the National Transformation Program 2020 and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 to increase people’s awareness about traffic. This is manifested by carrying out several exceptional initiatives at “Salik” Traffic Safety Center.
