MU LAUNCHES ITS STRATEGIC PLAN 2020-2025

The University launched its third Strategic Plan 2020-2025 in the ceremony held in the presence of His Highness Governor of Majmah Prince Abdulrahman bin Abdullah bin Faisal, MU Rector Dr. Khalid Al-Muqrin, Governor of Al-Zulfi His Excellency Mr. Misfir bin Ghaleb al-Otaibi and President of Hautat Sudair Center Mr. Fahad Saleh Al-Zekri.

The ceremony was held in the Main Campus Theater Hall and was attended by the vice-rectors, heads of government departments, deans of colleges and support deanships and department directors.

The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by student Mohammed Al-Shikri.

Dr. Mohammed Al-Rukban, Chairman of the Preparatory Committee for the Third Strategic Plan, welcomed the audience and praised the accomplishments of the University and the great role played by the Rector since his inauguration.

“The University journey began under Dr. Muqrin’s leadership with teamwork, a clear vision and a well-thought-out plan. Since its establishment, the first plan was formed with the aim to be the University beacon in its journey during the first three years and beyond,” Dr. Al-Rukban said.

He pointed out that the University had made great strides with that plan. “The University has gone beyond the plan in many respects,” he added.

Furthermore, Dr. Al-Rukban stated that when the first plan phase was near completion, the Rector gave instructions to start work on the second strategic plan 1440 - 2020.

“The working group began preparing the second strategic plan by reviewing the first plan, the achievements on the ground, the global trends in higher education and the national development policies and strategic plans of corresponding universities, higher and public education,” Dr. Al-Rukban explained. He also added that the opinions of experts, specialists and beneficiaries of this university project had been taken into account until the completion of the second strategic plan, which combined reality on the one hand with ambition on the other.

Dr. Al-Rukban then stated, “The future plan was drawn up based on reality, so the University was able to achieve 90% of the objectives. The remaining 10% represents the ongoing projects and initiatives that have been integrated into the University third strategic plan already in effect”.

At the end of his speech, Dr. Al-Rukban thanked all those who contributed to the completion of the strategic plans.

Following the speech, the third strategic plan of the University 2020 -2025 was launched.

The audience then watched a film about the planning process at the University and the successes of the aspirations of its first and second strategic plans until the launch of the third plan following its development stages.

Later, MU Rector Dr. Khalid Al Muqrin welcomed the audience and confirmed that the strategic plan had been achieved successfully due to the ongoing support of the government of King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz, May Allah bless him, and His Highness the Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdel Aziz in addition to the support of the Minister of Education.

He added, “It’s a source of pride that the first, second and third strategic plans have been made by the University personnel who also contributed to the delivery and operation stages.”

“This strategic plan became a reference to the Ministry of Education in its Afaq plan and for many universities established prior to Majmah University so much so that we became the providers of expertise to 190 national institutions,” Dr. Muqrin stated.

The Rector added that the University, with the efforts of its personnel, had been able to achieve the objectives of its strategic plans over the years.

“What makes this plan stand out is that it’s made according to the highest international standards by local capabilities on campus,” the Rector boasted.

“It is rare for such a difficult equation to be realized in any institution, but here we always bet on two basic things: our trust in the efficiency of the university leaders and personnel who always make their best effort and our cherished values on campus”, Dr. Muqrin elaborated.

At the end of his speech, the Rector expressed appreciation to all those who contributed to the preparation of this plan as well as to all those who attended the inauguration ceremony, stressing that the difficult phase of this plan (implementation) had just started.

Finally, Dr. Muqrin awarded the co-sponsors of the plan, the chairs and members of the committees.

Commemorative photographs were taken for the occasion.
