At the request of MU Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Muqren, a delegation of the university, headed by the Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Mohammed Al-Shaya’a, participated the workshop entitled “Entrepreneurial Universities and Value-Added”.
On behalf of the Vice-Minister of Education, the Vice-Minister’s Office for Research and Creativity, Dr. Nasser Al-Aqili inaugurated the workshop which aims to create a platform for leaders of universities to present the Vice-Minister’s Office’s prospects on creativity and entrepreneurship and to seek the current challenges facing universities.
The workshop is part of an initiative launched by the Vice-Minister’s Office to pay more attention to Entrepreneurial Universities. The primary focus of the workshop is to encourage universities to take part in the economic development by launching creative projects, forming partnerships with stakeholders both at the public and private sectors and attracting investment regionally and globally.
Reflecting on the potential of the workshop, the Vice-Rector, Prof. Al-Shaya’a, said that the entrepreneurial universities project is the beginning for massive changes that will be achieved by Saudi universities, pointing out that the university is following suit in this regard.
Prof. Al-Shaya’a added “the Ministry of Education, represented by the Vice-Minister’s Office, will be a big support to universities’ initiatives to achieve the Kingdom’s vision 2030.”
