Majmaah University – represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs – participated in the training trip organized by the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association in headquarters of the Florida State scouts at Lanushi Scout Camp in Orlando, Florida.
Many figures from Saudi universities, the Ministry of Education, the Sports Association, colleges industrial and technical institutes joined those trainings including deans, vice-deans and heads of scout’s activities
The university participants, in this trip included: Dr. Saud Al-Muqhem, academic supervisor of scouts, Mr. Nasser Al-Hanou, head of sports and scout department and Mr. Abdel Aziz Al-Khalaf. They learned about the hobby badges and the merit badges system and the mechanism of granting the Eagle Scout badge, the highest scout badge in America, as well as the policy for developing scout leadership.
The program included tourist trips in Florida State and a visit to the scouts headquarter office in the state to meet officials and learn about their experience. Scouts’ experience was exchanged by the Saudi and American scouts.
A visit was also paid to the food storage and preservation association in Florida, and they were briefed about the vital role of the American scouts in helping the association in the distribution and organization process.
Mr. Al-Hanou said that this visit came at the request of MU Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Muqren and the follow-up of the Vice-Rector, Dr. Ahmed Al-Rumaih as well as the supervision of the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Khalid Al-Ofaisan.
Dr. Al-Ofaisan extended his deep thanks to the rector for his incessant support to the deanship’s activities, and particularly the approval in this training trip, which is expected to have a positive impact on leaders of activities at the university. Thanks were also extended to the vice-rector for the follow-up as well as all participants in the program.
