MU RECTOR VISITS E-LEARNING AND IT DEANSHIPS

An inspection visit was paid by MU Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Muqren to the Deanship of e-Learning and Continues Education (DECE) and the Deanship of Information Technology (DIT) to check the progress of distance learning.
Accompanied by both vice-rectos, Prof. Musallam Al-Dosari and Dr. Ahmed Al-Rumaih, MU Rector held a meeting with the staff of DECE who were encouraged for their efforts and were required to work as a team to serve students in line with the expectations of the country leaders.
During the meeting, MU Rector reviewed a report prepared by the DECE which includes statistics of the e-learning courses developed by the university and the training plans which aim to develop the skills of students and faculty members in modern education systems.
MU Rector was also briefed about the plan set by the DECE to overcome the difficulties encountered in using virtual classes. An alternative plan was developed to integrate ZOOM Video Communication with the Blackboard system in a way that enables students to access ZOOM via the Blackboard.
MU Rector ended up his visit by touring the e-learning training and technical support section at the DECE.
With the same concern in mind, MU Rector headed to the DIT to examine the preparations made by the deanship to ensure the distance learning applications are operating effectively.
Welcomed by the Dean of DIT, Dr. Mohammed Al-Wanein, MU Rector was briefed about the deanship’s team efforts to address any problem instantly and around the clock.
Dr. Al-Wanein pointed out that with the assistance of state-of-the-art software that are checked on regular basis, a special team was formed to monitor all process and to respond to all feedbacks according to the highest standards.
At the end of the tour, MU Rector expressed his gratitude with the commendable and professional efforts made by all staff, motivating them to do their best in serving students and this nation at large.
Amid corona virus concerns, this inspection visit by MU Rector to ensure the educational process is running effectively after the Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Education directed the activation of “virtual schools” and distance learning during the suspension period. MU had realized, since its establishment, the importance of e-learning and thus serious efforts were made to train faculty members and staff on how to use these systems.
