MU’S PROTECTIVE MEASURES AGAINST CORONA-VIRUS IS STILL UNDERGOING

With the follow-up of MU Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Muqren, the university is still making every effort to ensure that protective measures against corona-virus are in place.
MU Rector said that the measures taken by the government against the outbreak are highly appreciated, motivating the university staff to comply with these measures and to proceed with undertaking their academic administrative responsibilities.
Since the outbreak started, the rector held several meetings with the crisis team to implement an emergency plan that will ensure that safety of the university staff, faculty members and students; assign each department within its area of specialty to maintain safety; establish clinics at the university housing in Majmaah and Zulfi; direct residents to stay home and lockdown all gyms and mosques.
Beside the regular medical services provided on daily basis, the Medical Services Department also provided a number to receive calls for inquiries.
Among the measures taken by the university with regard to distance learning classes, Dr. Al-Muqren along with vice-rectors and deans made inspection visits to ensure that the educational process is undergoing as planned, motivating everyone to exert further efforts and work as one team to measure up to the expectations of the country’s leader.
MU Rector was also briefed about the plan set by the Deanship of e-Learning and Distance Education to overcome the difficulties encountered in using virtual classes. An alternative plan was developed to integrate ZOOM Video Communication with the Blackboard system in a way that enables students to access ZOOM via the Blackboard.
MU Rector also made an inspection tour to Deanship of Information Technology to examine the preparations made by the deanship to ensure the distance learning applications are operating effectively, urging the deanship staff to exert efforts to address any problem instantly and around the clock
MU pointed out that the university had realized, since its establishment, the importance of e-learning and thus serious efforts were made to train faculty members, staff and students on how to use these systems effectively.
