His Excellency the Rector of the University, Dr. Khalid bin Saad Al Muqrin, has directed the university, represented by Deanship of Student Affairs, to offer ambulatory health services to pilgrims, through active participation of Saudi Red Crescent Authority, as an extension of the role of the university to participate together with other governmental sectors in the service of pilgrims, and what this participation does bring of educating students on institutional voluntary work. Therefore, the university represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs with the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, participates with (20) students of medical specialties students in the service of pilgrims for this year. Dean of student Affairs, Dr. Hamad bin Abdullah Al Ghumaizy, and in preparation for this participation to reflect the bright image of the university, has stated that Deanship has established a training course for the voluntary students of the emergency Medical Services for pilgrims during Hajj period. Thus, the aim of this course is to inform students on the importance of volunteerism and training them on the principles of emergency first aid, and how to deal with the patient or the injured, as well as the medical devices used, besides training them to deal with the ambulance used for ministering patients. The Deanship has also provided what is needed by the student during his provision of this service throughout the pilgrimage season, hence, Dr. Al Ghumaizy expressed his thanks to his Excellency the Rector of the University, Dr. Khalid bin Saad Al Muqrin, on his wise directives and ongoing sponsorship for the programs of Deanship of Student Affairs, also he extended his thanks to the Saudi Red Crescent Authority for its efforts in opening the gate for the students who are interested in contributing to the service of pilgrims.
