His Excellency the Rector Rector Dr. Khaled bin Saad al-Muqrin inaugurated in His Excellency’s Office the first meeting of the committees working in organizing for the Special experiments Forum of the Saudi Charity Societies and the start of its works. The Forum will be organized by the university during the coming Rabea Al Thany. The Rector started the meeting by welcoming all attendants then gave his thanks to the Deanship of Community Service on this initiative and transferring the idea into reality by starting the implementation steps. He urged all heads of committees to work hard and dedication to achieve the Forum objectives assigned to it with the university's readiness to provide all the needs and capabilities needed by the committees.
Then His Excellency the Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr. Mohsen Bin Abdul Rahman Al Mohsen took the management meeting where he requested the committees’ heads to provide initial idea for each committee activities and tasks. He also listened to everyone’s observations and discussed the timetable for the committees’ works, the implementation mechanism and the requirements of each committee. Dr. Al Mohsen stressed on that work should continue to complete the preparations before the Forum by enough time.
H.E. The Dean of Community Service and Continuing Education, Dr. Omar Bin Msaed Al Sharioufi spoke about the Forum and its objectives, as stated that the forum comes out of Majmaah University, represented by the Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education, awareness of its role towards the local community & its issues, and work on providing scientific and practical solutions to various problems in addition to analyzing the opportunities and challenges. The Deanship sought to convene the first Forum of the special experiments of the Saudi charity societies under the slogan (Towards Distinctive Charity Work). The volunteering work worldwide is witnessing a remarkable development in its projects, programs, and related challenges & opportunities as a result of rapid changes at all levels, from political, economic, social, media and others, resulting in a wide differences between the societies working in the charity field and generated many inquiries about the reasons for the excellent performance of charities and outputs.
He added that the forum seeks to achieve a number of objectives including support and promote the culture of philanthropic work in the community levels, discussing the role of social responsibility of all parties concerned with charity work. And shed light on media status in charitable work and its actual impact on raising volunteerism & charity awareness; seek to establish partnerships between the public sector, private sector and charity foundations and benefit from the successful experiences in philanthropic work; and the necessity to highlight practical examples of successful partnerships between foundations and other sectors of civil or public sectors. He also added that a number of topics were specified for the Forum, including methods of excellence administration for charitable programs & projects built upon methodological and practical framework with professional unique manners. Electronic technology should be employed in philanthropic work; within advanced computer software that provide different sophisticated philanthropic work and set positive active strategies for community partnership through involving the wider possible segment of community members. And programs developed for the development of entrepreneurship and positive towards the volunteer work with community groups and students in particular. The professionalism methods should also be deployed in marketing and advertising for charitable programs & projects through distinct ideas & methods and continuous improvement for the association programs based on ongoing and integrated evaluation by all people involved in the association. Finally, the association resources should be invested and increased in a method that ensures self-sufficiency in the future. At the end of his of his statement, Dr. Sharyoufi thanked the Rector for sponsoring this meeting and his support for the idea of the forum and guidance to facilitate the work of the committees’ expressing his optimism of the success of the Forum.
