The Rector Dr. Khaled bin Saad Al Muqrin Launched in his His Excellency’s Office the new version of the University portal in the presence of Their Excellencies the university Vice Rectors, Colleges & Supporting Deanships Deans. The inauguration ceremony started by a speech by His Excellency the Supervisor of the Information Technology Deanship, Dr. Omer Bin Mohammed Al Mutaihi who gave a presentation on the new version of the portal. He stated that the identity of the university was adhered to in the new version. Dr. Al Mutaihi also provided a detailed explanation of some features of the Portal, including the linking portal options, social networking and facilitating access to electronic services for students, teaching staff & employees, as well as facilitating access to important links task such as news, announcements, activities, videos, photos, portal’s map, gate and friendly web links. the Dr. Al Mutaihi also reviewed the portal electronic services that were self designed and implemented by the Information Technology Deanship and offers several online services such as personal websites, personal office, technical support, messaging and electronic directory. H.E. Dr. Omer Al Mutaihi stated that the new version of the portal is compatible with international standards to assess universities websites W3C. It also attained a 100% rate in the assessment performed by the e-Government Electronic Assessment Program "Yesser" for the achievement of construction phase. Then the Director of E-Portal & E-mail Mr. Yusef Bin Hamad AlRukban viewed statistics about the content of the portal and the efforts being exerted to complete the new version of the university portal which began with the first meeting for the portal supervisors before three months, then collecting, auditing, translation and entry of the electronic portal data content in both languages (English and Arabic), which amounted to more than 2300 page. The portal administrators were trained in 6 training courses for 32 administrators. Technology, Dr. Omer Al Mutaihi and his team for their efforts exerted to complete this work and for what characterized the portal of good design, services offered to cope with the huge development witnessed by the university in all its units, the steps of progress and prosperity which are going on. Then the chance was given for the university Vice Rectors, Colleges & Supporting Deanships Deans to discuss the services provided by the portal. Then the portal team was honored by meeting His Excellency the university Rector and greeting him, as he thanked them and showed his appreciation their work which was appreciated by the university.
