Four university projects have been qualified to the final vote in the World Summit on Information Society (WSIS). These projects are The System of Committees and Councils, Mobile E-training and Education, Air Quality in Laboratories and the System of Research.
“This summit is an international conference about information and telecommunication that comes under the auspices of the UN. It’s for world leaders who are committed to the revolution of the information technology in service of humanity.” Dr. Musallam Al-Dousari the vice-rector said. “The conference represents public and private organizations, the international and local ones,” he added.
Dr. Dousari said that that summit aimed at building a community of information technology serving humanity and heading towards development. He also pointed that the preliminary nomination of the projects is based on several benchmarks including the seriousness of the project application, its contribution in electronic control and its effect in the information community.
The final nomination of the winning projects is based on a vote system, and voting is available for everyone from any place around the world. The deadline for the vote is 01/05/2015.
“The link of the vote will be distributed to the university staff along with the voting procedures in the coming period in an attempt to vote easily for the university projects showing a sign of support to or beloved university.” The vice-rector said.
