Majmaah University Rector Dr. Khaled Saad Al-Muqrin has issued a decree forming a committee in charge of preparing the strategic plan of the University. Headed by Chancellor-Adviser for quality Affairs Dr. Mohamed Osman Al-Rukban, the committee consists of six members: Dr. Musallam Muhammed Al-Dousari, Dr. Zayed K. Al-Khama’aly, Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al-Sweed, Dr. Saeed Abdo Na’afa and Dr. Saad Al-Qahtani, and Mr. Farris Saleh Al-Farris, a secretary and member of the committee.

Several tasks have been assigned to the committee. Some of which are to review the strategic plan of the University in consistence with the requirements of AFAQ Plan and the developmental project at the university, to propose an effective mechanism for monitoring the implementation of the University strategic plan, to provide a broad view of the second plan of 1437-1440, to follow-up the requirements of the developmental project with the relevant authorities on campus, and to work on implementing AFAQ Plan and providing required reports.

The formation of the committee came as a result of the Advisory Council recommendation of the need for coordination between the requirements and projects of the strategic plan, the requirements and projects of AFAQ Plan and the requirements and projects of the developmental project preparing the University for Academic Accreditation.

“On behalf of the committee members, I would like to thank Dr. Khalid Al-Muqrin, the University Rector, for his great trust in our team. We will do our best to ensure that the committee successfully accomplishes its tasks, serving our beloved university and contributing to its development.” The Committee Chairman Dr. Rukban said.

“Our tasks include the preparation and implementation of the University Strategic Plan of 1437-1440, aiming to achieve the desired success and progress of Majmaah University.” Dr. Rukban added.

The committee divided the Plan preparation into seven stages:

  1. The Planning Stage that aims at preparing the University for Participation in and contribution to the plan.
  2. The Diagnostic Stage that requires the diagnosis of the University environment and analysis of its strategic situation, defining the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges laying ahead.
  3. The Analysis Stage that is concerned with analyzing international and national trends and the general contexts affecting the strategic plan.
  4. The Orientation Stage where workshops results get the rector’s approval, and the general approaches towards the University issues are clearly defined.
  5. The Draft Stage where a draft of the strategic plan is developed.
  6. The Approval Stage that requires the University Council approval of the plan and publishing it afterwards.
  7. The Project Stage where initiatives and projects are set and procedures are taken for their implementation.

Dr. Rukban pointed out that the first three stages will be implemented by three teams: a team for studying the national trends in the Kingdom, a team for studying the international trends and future changes, and a team for diagnosing the environment at the University.

Concluding his speech, Dr. Rukban called for action from each member in order to achieve the desired success at Majmaah University.
