Another great achievement is added to Majmaah University via the winning of the e-government award, which is one of the world summit award 2015. The Vice-Rector, Dr. Musallam M. Al-Dosari has received the award on behalf of the University Rector in a ceremony held in Geneva, Switzerland. The event was also witnessed the presence of the ambassador of Saudi , Mr. Faisal Hassan Tarrad.
The World Summit Award (WSA) is the global follow-up initiative of the United Nations World Summit on Information Society (WSIS). It promotes smart content for smart people. On a biennial basis, it awards e-Content that contributes to a true knowledge society and promotes it at a global congress.
The university has participated in category 7 ( information technology and telecommunication – e-government) with the committee system. The system is developed by the Deanship of E-learning and Distance Education. the primary purpose of the system is to manage the process of meetings electronically. The system is deemed innovative as it enables the members of committee to sign the sessions electronically.
In this regard, the University Rector, Khalid S. Al-Mugren noted that the award is a result of the university shift to electronic transactions. He added that although MU is a newly established institutions, it managed to attain this great achievement.
