In collaboration with the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA), the Deanship of Student Affairs at Majmaah University is preparing for participation in the Pilgrimage Season of 1436 H. This contribution comes as part of the university efforts in offering quality programs that highlight the university role in community service through a team of 25 students volunteering to serve pilgrims, providing them with medical and first aid service. The program aims to instill the culture and spirit of volunteering in the university students, encouraging them to contribute to the service of pilgrims. Moreover, these community service programs potentially link the academic theoretical field with the real-world practice through dealing with emergency cases, providing medical and first aid services to the sick and injured as well as gaining experience from working with experienced emergency physicians. “A first-aid course will be held to the participant students,” Dr. Hamad Al-Qimizi, Dean of Student Affairs Department, pointed out. “I appreciate the efforts of all the employees at the SRCA in facilitating our students’ participation in the program”, he added. Furthermore, Dr. Qimizi stressed the interest of Majmaah University Rector Dr. Khalid Al-Muqrin in the student active participation in these programs that provide valuable service to the pilgrims. Additionally, he emphasized the follow-up of Vice-rector of Academic Affairs, Dr. Ahmad Romaih to the progress of the program.
