Majmaah University Rector Dr. Khalid Al-Muqrin has approved the establishment of the Unit of Intellectual Awareness and its structure. This movement is the result of the University willingness to mentally and psychologically guard its students in particular and the Saudi youth in general against extremism through spreading awareness of the balanced Islamic ideology founded on the Holy Quran and Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as well as the approach of the pious followers. This Unit is also concerned with reinforcing the Islamic values and the well- balanced behavior of Saudi youth in order to ensure an academic safe environment suitable for students and supportive of study and society's stability at large. Furthermore, the Unit aims to enhance the spiritual and national affiliation of the employees at the university and supplement the national endeavors in maintaining national security in addition to preventing young people from ideas and values alien to our country. Moreover, the objectives of the unit revolve around the consolidation of the right centrist Islamic approach, the treatment of the negative intellectual phenomena related to issues and contemporary developments, and the provision of initiatives that can contribute to strong intellectual immunity among young people, and raise awareness among them concerning contemporary intellectual trends. Additionally, the Unit focuses on demonstrating the intellectual and ethical extremism in deviant groups’ approaches in order to show their flawed and twisted path that cannot be related to the correct Islamic approach. Participation in the preparation of academic research and field studies with respect to intellectual awareness is also a potential goal of the Unit.
