The College of Applied Medical Science – Female Sections- at Majmaah University celebrated the commemoration of the 85th national day of the Kingdom by holding a number of activities including cultural and artistic events. The ceremony started with recitations of verses from the Holy Quran, then Bedour Al-Mutairi, a college student, delivered a speech on the national day occasion. “Praise Be to Allah and blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of God.” She started. “The National Day anniversary, which revisits us every year, is a precious memory that is dear to every citizen. On this occasion, our true love of our beloved nation and leadership, who provide a life of dignity and welfare to the Saudi citizens, is shown and shared. This Day reminds us of the great efforts made by the founder of this great country King Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud – God Bless His Soul- to unify a rather fragmented country and form an independent homeland that we all admire.” She continued. Bedour added “Through this unity, people of the peninsula have been united into one single nation having been through infighting and disarray for long periods. King Abdul-Aziz has laid down security and stability, then worked on spreading knowledge and awareness all over the kingdom.” “The celebration of the National day reflects the national spirit that we should have and promote. This great day is worth the stop where we commemorate what we have achieved over the years and realize the national dimensions deep in ourselves, our souls so as not to become just a passing day in our life like any other. It is an opportunity to inject a new dose of our sense of patriotism and feel in all honesty and sincerity that our home always lives in our heart and soul, not just for one day. However, we find that day a good opportunity to express our feelings of love and loyalty to our nation. It’s the day we regain our will and reveal our determination, announcing our undivided loyalty to our leaders so that we can all protect this great nation together.” Ms. Mutairi continued. “On such admirable anniversary, we pray to Allah, the Almighty, to protect and bless the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul- Aziz Al-Saud, His Crown Prince Muhammad bin Nayef and His Deputy- crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman. We pray to the Almighty to protect this country against all evils.” Bedour concluded. After Bedour’s speech, a show about sky eagles was displayed. Then, a poem about the country was read followed by a variety of shows and activities.
