On behalf of His Highness, Minister of Higher Education Dr. Khalid Bin Mohammed Al-Angari, Chairman of the University Board, His Excellency the University Rector Dr. Khalid Bin Al-Mogren chaired the eighth meeting of the the University Board for the academic year 1432/1433 H in the Conference Hall, at the Office of the Rector and with the presence of the General Secretary of the Board of Higher Education Dr. Mohammed Bin AbdulAziz Al-Saleh (through visual communication) and the university Vice Rector as well as the Deans of colleges and Deanships. The Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Research and the Secretary of the Board, Dr. Mohsen Bin Abdul Rahman Al-Mohsen stated that the Rector started the meeting by welcoming everyone and bless them with the achievements of the university and successes achieved during the academic year. He also mentioned that what has been achieved is an investment for the supports provided by the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the human resources of this country. After that, the Board discussed a number of academic issues and reviewed the plan of admission and academic calendar for the next year as well as the budget of the student activity. The Board also recommended a number of specialized centers that will serve the employees of the university such as Languages Center as well as the need of some provinces to some colleges of quality, and recommended the approval of the College of Business Project in Zulfi. The Board also reviewed the plan of the Faculty of Engineering and recommended the approval of restructuring the departments of the Faculty of Engineering as well as opening new departments which match the needs and requirements of the job market for students. The Board also recommended the approval of the Faculty of Medicine plan which is one of the best academic plans in the world.
