On behalf of Minister of education Dr. Ahmad Al-Issa-Chairman of Majmaah University Board, H.E. Dr. Khalid Al-Muqrin- the University President- chaired the fifth meeting of the University Board for the academic year 1436/1437 in the Conference Hall in the president’s office. Several officials including Secretary-General of the Interim Committee of the Board of higher education Dr. Mohammed Al Saleh (through Video Conference), Vice presidents of the University, and the deans of the colleges and supporting deanships attended the meeting. The Secretary of the Board, Dr. Abdullah Al-Shayie - Vice President for Graduate Studies & Research-Secretary- pointed out the meeting has been commenced by the University Presidet Dr. Khalid Al-Muqrin who applauded the achievements of Majmaah University over its first 7 years. Then he mentioned the launch of the "University Award for innovation and entrepreneurship", organized by the Center of Student Innovation and Creative Ideas which is affiliated to the Office of the Vice-President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research represented by The Award is part of the University efforts in supporting the national growth and the discovery and development of young talents throughout different educational institutions around the University. Furthermore, the Board commended Majmaah University President for receiving a letter of appreciation from the Minister of education Dr. Ahmad Al-Issa regarding the University system of Student Transportation. Dr. Issa even called for cooperation of the University with other universities around the kingdom to introduce that system, which provides a transportation electronic service to the university students. Moreover, the Board praised Microsoft Office 364 registration and email free services for the University student. These services include extra cloud space up to 1 Terabytes on OneDrive and 50 Gigabytes storage on each student’s email with the possibility of changing the theme of the emails and access to office services. Also, the students can download Office 2013 Plus Pro. On their computers and tablets and use them freely as a free service provided by the University. The Board thanked Dr. Muqrin for the Academic Assessment Program and signing a note of understanding with the General Secretary of the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment, Dr. Abdullah Al-Muslim. Dr. Muqrin said that Majmaah University- in its 7th year, along with its achievements- is on the threshold of a substantial qualitative leap made possible by the great Almighty and the financial and psychological support of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques His Highness King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz, his Crown Prince, His Excellency Prince Muhammad bin Nayef and His Excellency Prince Muhammad bin Salman, the Vice-Crown Prince in addition to Dr. Ahmad Al-Issa, the Minister of Education. Subsequently, the Board discussed several topics of its agenda. It has agreed on the 4th annual report of the university and praised its accuracy and transparency as well as the accomplishments of the University in 1434/1435 that have been stated in it. The Board has also agreed on the Academic Attachment of a faculty member at the College of Medicine and several regulations for renewing contracts of Saudi faculty members on the basis of academic distinction and professional development.
