The Deanship of Student Affairs has completed the preparations of the arbitration committees regarding the Holy Quran Recital and Sunnah Competition for the Rector’s Award, which is regularly held in Majmaah under the sponsorship of the University Rector Dr. Khalid Al-Muqrin. The Arbitration Committees have received over 300 student contestants.
Dr. Hamad Al-Qamizi- Dean of the Deanship of Student Affairs- said he was delighted that the competition has been of great interest to the Rector, and has been followed up by the Vice-rector for Academic Affairs Dr. Ahmad Aromaih.
Furthermore, the student interaction with the competition was excellent, as it reflected the students’ initiatives to show how much they love the Holy Quran and Sunnah.
Dr. Qamizi thanked the Societies of the Holy Quran in both Majmaah and Zulfi for their supervision of the Hadith competition in addition to the Holy Quran Society in Hawtet Sedeir as well as Hedai and Eman Societies in Riyadh for their observation of the Quran Recital Contest.
“The contest is concerned with the memorization of the Holy Quran and Hadith in addition to their interpretation،” Dr. Qamizi pointed out. “Its purpose is to encourage students to study the Quran and Hadith thoroughly and show that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is interested in the study of the Quran and Hadith,” he added.
Dr. Qamizi stated, “The University Rector will hand the awards himself to the winners in a celebration that will take place in the coming weeks”.
