MU Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Mugren patronized the activities of 5th exhibition for scientific and career day at college of engineering in the presence of General Secretary of Saudi Council of Engineers, Dr. Hussein Al-Fadiley on Monday 11-4-2-16 at the auditorium of main campus. A number of national companies participated such STC, GDC, Saline Water Conversion Corporation.
The Dean of Engineering College, Dr. Abdullah A. Al-Abdelkareem said that holding this exhibition for the fifth time consecutively is a clear evidence of the college’s concern with research. He then presented the achievements made by the college’s students locally and internationally which doubled over the last year.
Speaking of the college’s prospect for academic advancement, Dr. Al-Abdelkareem said it will focus on raising the number of patents and international participations in conferences.
Dr. Al-Fadiley talked about the role played by the council in enhancing the performance of Saudi engineers via career accreditation, quality assurance of education, arbitrations of engineering problems, organizing workshops and training session and offering consultations for both private and government sectors. He also encouraged all engineering students to develop their skills in order to compete in market.
MU Rector, Dr. Al-Mugren extended his appreciations to the college for organizing such an activity which contributes in substance and value with the university’s vision.
The 2nd strategic plan of engineering college up to 2020 was presented to the Rector. A memorial shield was presented to the general secretary of SCE, Dr. Al-Fadiley for his contribution in the exhibition.
Appreciations letters were given to the students Faisal Al-Rabia and Amer Al-Anezi for their former participation Engineering Innovation Exhibition held in Germany and they won 2nd position with silver medals.
