On the sideline of the 3rd edition of the ceremony of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Award, a workshop titled “ Marketing Prototype” was organized by MU to discuss marketing prototype or early model, which is concerned of turning a concept or idea into a leading product that helps students and faculty members to achieve their goal.
The chairman of the plenary session, Dr. Bader Al-Mutairi, introduced the speakers of this session as follow: Dr. Wael Al-Mousa, dean of Entrepreneurship Deanship at KFPM, Dr. Mohammed Magrabi, dean of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at KKU and Dr. Abdullah Al-Suaibi, a delegate of IEEE in Saudi Arabia. Dr. Al-Magrabi explained briefly the concept of prototype as the early model which allows investors to see the idea of the inventor to be marketed as a product. The product is a kind of presentation that shows the real product in a way that raises the interest of people. Dr. Al-Suaibi talked about the importance of promoting the concept of invention and entrepreneurship among students, staff and community individuals. He also stressed the idea of utilizing scientific research and turning them into products of high value. He also presented Nokia’s experience in invention field and the phases followed by the company to design its model in a way that meets the market needs. Dr. Al-Mousa explained the important role that should be played by graduate of Saudi universities to achieve the goals set under Saudi Vision 2030 in the field of entrepreneurship.
