The General Administration of Projects, Operation, and Maintenance prepared the astronomical observatory site to ensure it was suitable for the moon-sighting committees. The preparations included surveying the road leading to the observation site to ensure easy access, transporting a crane to the observatory site, and leveling uneven areas. Electrical services were also improved by providing a suitable power source for equipment and devices, along with a backup generator to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply and inspecting and maintaining lighting systems.

The preparations also involved arranging flower beds, trimming trees, and pruning them. Furthermore, fixed and mobile directional signs were installed to guide participating teams and visitors from Hawtat Sudair all the way to the observation site. Collaboration with the Deanship of Information Technology resulted in the installation of an internet broadcasting device at the observation site.

A comprehensive maintenance of the observation site was conducted, including inspecting, operating, and repairing plumbing materials along with cleaning weeds.
