The head of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Abdullah Bajahzar, visited the laboratory of the Tissue and Cells at the College of Applied Medical Sciences to see the medical device for drying and fixing tissues on medical laboratory slides, which obtained a certificate of industrial model under the name of medical devices from the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property.
Dr. Bajahzar listened to explanation on how the device works and its features along with some preliminary results.
The basic idea of the device is to dry and fix the medical laboratory slides. It works to adjust the digital temperature from room temperature to 75 degrees Celsius. The internal surface of the device is designed from aluminum to transfer heat steadily and dry the slides homogeneously.
The team that manufactured the device included a group of students and researchers in the Department of Medical Laboratories, and they are: Prof. Raed Al-Baradei, Ahmed Essam Ahmed Al-Dariwish, Ayyad Moqhem Al-Shamri, Jasser Muhammad Al-Baijan, Fahd Muhammad Al-Enezi, Abdullah Abdul Mohsen Al-Shaya, Obaid Swaid Al-Sahli and Muhammad Al-Muhareb.
