Under the patronage of Riyadh Governor, Prince Faisal bin Bander Al-Saud, MU held on Wednesday the 13th graduation ceremony for the year 1442-1443, in the presence of Majmaah governor, Prince Abdelrahman bin Faisal, MU rector, Prof. Al-Mizil, princes, vice-rectors, deans, head of governorates and students' guardians.
Inaugurated by the national anthem and then a recitation of the Holy Koran, the rector delivered a welcoming speech which began by thanking Prince Faisal bin Bander for attending the ceremony which is seen as an act of support to the university, then congratulated graduates and encouraged them to exert efforts to serve their nation.
Following the graduation parade, Dr. Saud Al-Muqhem, the dean of Admission and Registration, addressed the audience and started by pointing out that the total number of graduates for this year is 3927 students from different colleges, highlighting that 55000 students have graduated since the establishment of the university.
At the request of the rector, we strive to serve the governorates located near the university by increasing the number of seats for admission and setting up new programs that meet the market needs.
Dr. Al-Muqhem concluded his speech by conveying a message to graduates and expressing gratitude to their parents and faculty members for supporting them during this journey.
On behalf of all graduates, Mohammed Al-Hayder, a student at the university, delivered a thank you speech to MU rector and all faculty members for their guidance and support during their study which ended up with this great achievement.
A thank you speech was also delivered by one of the scholarship students, Alameen, from Gambia, who expressed his appreciation for Saudi Arabia and the university for their generosity and support.
Several projects were launched by Prince Faisal on this occasion such as the colleges complex at the female campus, the service building, and medical clinics at the College of Dentistry in Zulfi.
The ceremony ended by honoring the former rector of the university, Dr. Al-Muqren, for his massive efforts. Outstanding students were also awarded certificates of appreciation.
In a statement to the media, Prince Faisal expressed his gratitude for taking part in this ceremony and advised students to pay back to their nation by serving the country in the best possible way.
