Awareness Campaign for Anti- Smoking Prepared by: Dr. Abdulmaqsod M. Salamah (Department of Educational Sciences) Date: 1/6/1438 AH Place: College of Education in Zulfi (first floor and classrooms) Target audience: Students Main goals: 1- To raise students’ awareness and urge them to combat smoking. 2- To introduce students to the chemical components of cigarettes. 3- To introduce the negative effects of smoking and its impacts on individuals and community. 4- To show means of nicotine measurement in the body and lungs strength. 5- To identify the effective ways to quit smoking. Within the framework of cooperation between College of Education and institutes of local community to provide community services to the public to raise students’ awareness about paramount issues such as anti-smoking, the department of educational sciences organized an activity entitled: “Awareness Campaign for Anti- Smoking”. The campaign was part of the activities of (voluntary work course), in cooperation with department of education in Zulfi (Department of anti-smoking) represented by Dr. Mazen Hamada. The activity was attended by the college Dean Dr. Rashid H. Al-Thonayyan, the Deputy of Students Affairs Dr. Ahmad A. Alqasha'ami, the Deputy of Educational Affairs Dr. Dhafer A. Al-Qarni, the head of educational sciences as well as a large number of faculty members and students. Dr. Rashid praised such activities that serve the community and contribute to raise the awareness among community members.
