College of Education Dean in Zulfi Discusses Annual Quality Plan With Heads of Academic Programs

The Dean of the College of Education in Zulfi, Dr. Rashid Bin Hamoud Al Thunayyan, discussed with their Excellencies the heads of the academic programs the annual plan for the college quality presented by the quality center. Dr. Abdul Hakim Radwan showed the annual quality plan for the year 1436-1437 H. He pointed that the plan contained a timetable that takes into account the time distribution of the quality requirements that the college academic programs need for their course description and reports, the annual reports of programs and the performance indicators. Furthermore, he stressed the need for providing a timetable to ease the burden on the programs instead of demanding the whole programs all at the end of the academic year. The Dean also discussed the issue of international accreditation of programs. Three programs were proposed from the college to the German commission (ASIIN): Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. The Head of Quality Center replied that the Chemistry Department finished writing the report and is now submitting the report to the Commission after completing the website of the program with information, proofs and evidence indicated in the report. However, physics and mathematics programs were approved to be presented to the commission by the Higher Committee for Quality in MU at the end of the academic year 1435-1436 H., and they are about to write the report and submit it after two months from now to the German commission. The Head of Quality Center also pointed out that the annual plan will follow, together with the Deanship of Quality at MU, the approval of presenting programs of Islamic studies - Arabic language - and English language, to be accredited by the Association of Arab Universities. His Excellency the Dean insisted that the plan should contain indicators to help give effect to the activities of the units related to the College vice deanships, so that they are strongly supportive to achieve a high level of quality of the academic programs. The heads of the academic programs also pointed to the need to allocate a number of training courses that help boost the teaching skills, especially for the new faculty members, including the activation of smart blackboard, the effective teaching skills, and writing course description. The head of Quality Center noted that the plan will contain certain training aspects because the Deanship of Quality will provide effective training programs for which it has a strong plan. At the end of the meeting, His Excellency the Dean of the College thanked the heads of the programs and their effective interaction with the submitted plan.
