College of Education in Zilfi Offers an Educational Program
An educational program was offered by the Department of Arabic seeking to strengthen the links between students and libraries. The program included a visit by Dr. Abdullah Mohamed AL Amine, the associate professor in the Department of Arabic along with level 1 students every Tuesday to the Zilfi Public Library. The program aspires to instill bibliophilism and scientific research in students. Objectives of the program: Develop a positive relation between students and books, libraries and civil society institutions. 2. Highlight the role of reading in creative thinking.3. Develop the skills of reading and critical reading.4. Develop the skill of research and study conduction in the fields of language and literature. Every Visit to the library involves selection, summarizing and discussion of a book. Dr. AL Amine would go through a briefing of the most famous books in the library collection and present its contents, author and encourage students to discuss and make deductions. Students participate also in the reading forum at the library which is held under the logo " books are living minds which we explore only by reading."
