English Department Participation in Reading Club
Under the supervision of English Department, the Reading Club invited the Arabic Language Department On Monday 30\1\1438 AH to participate in a cultural discussion. The discussion covered the importance, skills and goals of reading. Mr. Sami Alzaarir, a lecturer in the English Language Department, opened up the discussion and invited Dr. Ismael Mahmoud Mohammed, a lecturer in the Arabic Language Department, who talked about the importance of reading in building individuals and the society. The discussion topics are: 1- The definition of reading. 2- The stance of Alma'mun, the Abbasid caliph, on reading. 3- The importance of reading. 4- The difference between nations that appreciate reading and others that don't 5- The comprehension skills during reading. 6- The types of reading. 7-Important recommendations for readers.
