Hadith Authentication

The Unit of Excellence in Education and the Unit of Training held a workshop in collaboration with the Department of Islamic Studies at the College of Education in Zulfi (female sections) on Sunday 10/02/1437 in the Training Room at the College. The workshop was delivered by both Dr. Mashaer Abdurraheem and Dr. Hala Al-Ameen-assistant professors at the Department of Islamic Studies-who focused on the ways of Hadith authentication (sayings and Actions of Prophet Muhammad Peace and Blessings Be upon Him), targeting the students, the faculty members and the staff members. The workshop had several objectives: 1- introduction to the concept of Hadith authentication; 2- the importance and benefits of Hadith authentication; 3- acquiring the skill of Hadith authentication; 4- computer-based authentication (using Al-Shamela E-Library, searching for books, and obtaining results for instance); 5- the history of Hadith authentication and identification of original and secondary sources; and 6- the way of attribution to original and secondary sources and the need for verification of Hadith.
