HOW TO SUPPORT GIFTED STUDENTS

Presenter: Dr. Nawal Al-Dosoki. Title: “How to Support Gifted Students” (an introduction to Student Support Day events at the Arabic Department). Location: Annexed Building. Date: Wednesday 02/02/1438 AH. Target group: Arabic Department female students. Objectives: - Defining the concept of talent literally and figuratively. - Defining talent in Islam. - Identify gifted students using certain methods. - Recognize their mental, social and emotional characteristics. - Recognizing their problems and difficulties. - Learning several methods and techniques for nurturing talents. We have successfully taught the students of the Arabic Department the meaning of talent, both literally and figuratively. After defining the concept of talent, Ms. Nawal described to the students what does talent and creativity represent in Islam. Then, she explained how to identify gifted students by using certain methods to measure their intelligence. After that, she described the mental and social characteristics of gifted students, as well as the difficulties they may face in their communities and how to overcome them.
