Topic: Learning Outcomes (Reality and Aspirations) Aspects: the Session topic is divided into 5 aspects: 1- Defining labor market, the higher education system and linking them through community service programs. 2- Determining the components of learning outcomes and explaining that students and faculty members are also considered outcomes as to their respective institutions. 3- Examining the current learning outcomes, taking the Department of Mathematics as a model. 4- Defining the weaknesses of the current learning outcomes and calling for the adoption of a comprehensive project in the public and private institutions. 5- Determining the resources of the learning outcomes in order to apply them to students. The labor market is the economic organization in which an interaction of supply and demand occurs. If students and faculty members are the product, then the University is the owner of that product which sells it to the hiring institutions- the demand. The interaction of both parties can be approached via community service at the University. The outcome of the University is mainly reflected on academic research, books and publications, conferences and forums, research consultancies, training programs for the community in addition to the proportion of graduates and their educational level. Those graduates are the main elements of the University production. Therefore, redrafting the overall outcomes should consider the component as the main resource achieving the objectives of the academic programs. Organization of the Course-Means of implementation- Benefiting from academic research and relative internet websites- classrooms in the main building of the Faculty. Course Result 1- The attendees were fully convinced of the significance of redrafting program outcomes reflecting the vision and mission of the educational institution. 2- The faculty members as well as students are deemed outcomes of the institution. 3- There is a need to rewrite course specifications conforming to the new learning outcomes. The presenter thanked all the attendees for their participation and urged them to share the notion throughout their respective departments and programs for the development of the learning outcomes.
