Moral Values in the Old Arabic Poetry
The college of education, represented by the unit of teaching and learning excellence at Al Zulfi has organized , a scientific seminar entitled “the moral values in the old Arabic literature” on Monday the 9th of November 2015 at 9Am in the college complex auditorium. A group of students and faculty members have attended the seminar which was presented by Dr. Ibraheem Al Aghbash associate professor of Arabic Rhetoric in the department of Arabic Studies. The seminar introduced the following topics: • The definition of the word literature and its significance in the pre-Islamic epoch (Al Jahiliyyah) • The meaning of the word literature in the Islamic era and during the time of Banee Ummaiah • The norms and values of the pre-Islamic epoch later recognized by Islam • The moral values in the pre-Islamic poem • Practical examples of moral values in pre-Islamic poems • The impact of poetry on morality
