Reception of New Students
The Vice-deanship for Student Affairs at the Female Section of the Faculty of Education in Zulfi held a reception for the new students on Sunday, 17/12/1437. The meeting aimed at introducing important rules and regulations to freshmen in order to know their duties and rights as faculty students. Ms. Amal Al-Otaibi representing the Vice-dean for Student Affairs gave a speech, where she welcomed the audience and then talked about the regulations of the Faculty as well as the procedures on the Portal with regard to course registration, selection and withdrawal. Several problems in that regard were clarified as well. In addition to the introduction of the Units and their responsibilities at the Faculty, Ms. Amal elaborated further on the regulations that most students fail to follow, especially those concerning discipline. Another talk by Dr. Fawzyya Al-Bader representing the Department of Islamic Studies followed. She focused on the introduction of the Department and students responsibilities towards it. Various study plans, required courses, schedules and the significance of academic counseling were then discussed by the supervisors of the Units at the Faulty. Dr. Sarah Al-Mubarak-Supervisor of the Academic Counseling Unit- spoke about the services provided to the Faculty students through such unit, then services of the Student Activity Unit were also illustrated. The students attending the meeting listened to a presentation by Dr. Seham Taha-Assistant professor of Children Education- about the student skills required at the University and the proper ways to develop them. There was a discussion of students’ queries at the end of the meeting, followed by the distribution of brochures related to the Registration Unit.
