The Department of Chemistry at the College of Science and Humanities in Hawtat Sedeir obtained the fifth place at the university level in the most prepared programs for academic accreditation. In the course of holding activities to qualify the university for academic accreditation, the chemistry department in the College won the fifth place in the competition held by the Deanship of Quality and Skills Development following a strong competition between more than seventy programs, including the six programs of the College after the submission of documents to examine their effectiveness. The achievement is the first of its kind in the college, and represents a strong indicator for development at the college with the support of the university. The Department of Chemistry was set up since the establishment of the College in 1423, and has graduated over 199 students in the past few years. The department is currently headed by Dr. Omar Al-Saidi, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, and its coordinator at the department of female students is, Ms.Ohoud Al-Turki. The department includes a group of faculty members and students inside the Kingdom as well as a number of scholarship students abroad. Since Dr. Omar has become the Head of the Department, it has presented a great deal of excellence in scientific performance and activities, including the distinguished exhibition held last year, which witnessed the visit of the Director of the of Hawtat Sedeir Province. Furthermore, the academic club, which is one of its accomplishments, provides academic seminars and activities related to chemistry on a regular basis. The most prepared programs project is evaluated and supervised by the Deanship of Quality and Skills Development at the University for the second year in a row. The Department of Quality and Development at the College was the coordinator and supporter of academic departments in this respect. Represented by Dr. Ziad Al-Emari as the Vice-dean for the Quality Department, it has played a leading role and left a clear impact on the progress of quality at the College of Science and Humanities. Moreover, the work in the Department is conducted by a group of faculty members and coordinated by the departments of female students who have done their work to the fullest and have contributed significantly to push the college and its departments to obtain such degrees. winning this award has substantially helped in improving its performance since last year. The College is determined to award all participants including the departments that submitted their documents for examination at the project of the most prepared programs for accreditation in a special ceremony, as well as the staff members of the College who participated in all tasks of completing the program documents in preparation for accreditation.
