As part of the overall plan concerned with serving the local community, an English language training course was held for two weeks from 07/10/1437 to 20/7/1437 at the College. The course-provided by 5 distinguished students at both the academic and social levels- targeted high school students in Sedeir region. With much focus on oral communication, the course aimed at developing the four skills of the language: listening, reading, writing and speaking in addition to the language systems – grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation- that augment language skills. The course stressed that language learning is unlike any other school learning of a subject or a course where students study for quizzes and tests, but it is a rather life-long learning consolidated by practice and exposure to further communication. Such learning needs time, effort and patience. Using all senses in learning has also been the objective of the course. This helped engage students in the sessions. Director of the Education Office in Sedeir region thanked the dean of the College, Dr. Tarik Al-Bahlal for such a positive initiative, which provided a positive and spontaneous mode on the part of students to learn English. It has also granted them confidence and good self-worth due to their active participation in the course.
