In the presence of the faculty's members and staff, Intellectual Awareness Unit in the female students departments hosted the unit's inauguration ceremony on Sunday 5/3/1438H in the faculty lobby. The ceremony aimed at defining the unit's objectives, vision and mission, among which spreading intellectual awareness of Islamic values and targeting social and voluntary behavior in cooperation and communication with the university officials. The ceremony began by the recitation of the Holy Qura'an, followed by the speech of the faculty Vice-Rector for female student's departments Dr. Nora S. Al-Shehri where she talked about the blessing of security. Then the student Shahed Al-Swailem recited a poem about homeland security. Dr Dalia Sadiq delivered a speech reviewing the unit's objectives, vision and mission. She also talked about the need to strengthen and consolidate the principle of moderation as a fixed approach in Islam, and stand against deviant ideas and correct misconceptions, especially under the influence of the media which can be positive or negative. Ms. Wadha Al-Shebani talked about the unit's objectives and activities to serve the students and community, and announced the research contest and best documentary. The ceremony also included contests on intellectual security presented by the students Aisha Al-Naja'i and Muneera Al-Khalifi. Afterwards, the workshop "How to Be Positive" started including presentations presented by Dr. Zainab A. Jafar and the student Amjad Al -Swailem where they talked about thinking positively and being optimistic and in tune with life. At the end of the ceremony, the graduate students Maram AlZakri and Muneera Al Swailem distributed brochures and gifts with the unit logo.
