The lecturer started by highlighting the fact that respecting human rights in KSA is not a novelty rather a tradition of 14 centuries set by Allah in Quran. Dr. AL Mhaous argued that the Saudi jurisdiction guaranteed the rights of defendants and set numerous examples, which all go through the following legal phases: 1. Arrest and Proof establishment. 2. Investigation. 3. Trial. 4. Verdict execution. The lecturer concluded that it was evident the Saudi code of criminal procedure is one of the best in terms of respecting human rights, and treating defendants decently. The speaker stated that the code preserves the dignity of the defendant as well as his physical and moral rights and prevents bodily persecution and insults or harming his house and family as long as they are not part of the case all within respect of Sharia laws. By the end of the lecture, the floor was open to discuss the presented ideas and the questions of the audience. This lecture is part of the college plan to serve the local community. In fact among the attending parties was Brigadier General Fahd Bin Zaid AL Daajani and a group of officers from different troops in Houtat Sudir.
