The Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science and Humanities in Howtat Sedeir set up a welcoming reception for its new students. The celebration started with a welcoming speech by Ms. Iqbal Ahmad- Coordinator of Student Activities at the Department. She also introduced the staff and faculty members to the freshmen. Ms. Ahmad spoke about the importance of student activities in integrating them into the new academic life as well as helping them relieve their stress on and outside campus. She also urged students to participate actively in the events in order to take full advantage of the offered programs. Then, Dr. Auhood Al-Turki gave an overview of the Department, its instructions, disciplinary actions concerning exams and regulations. Ms. Alaweyyah Muhammad- former Academic Advisor- talked about the final exams, grades, honors, academic transcript and calculation of the cumulative GPA. After answering students’ queries, the distinct students and staff members were awarded prizes in recognition for their efforts. Dr. Shazlia Mohammad- Coordinator of Academic Advising- concluded the event by explaining the procedures of course selection and withdrawal.
